Japan Trip '97(updated 2004)
Read about my school trip in 1996 to Japan. We went to many places although Kyoto was the main spot, we also went to Nara, Hiroshima, and Osaka. I had many funny experiences that you can read about. This was a great experience that I hope to someday do again. Learn about my first attempt at drinking Japanese tea, and how I never drank it there again.

I went to the Winter Games in 97 for Judo. I had been to the Summer Games in 1996 and felt lucky to also go to the Winter Games. Listen to the story about what happened and how I did.

BC Summer Games in Trail/Castlegar. One of the best times of my life. Read about how I went there to do Long Jump but ended up coming home with a gold medal for the 4x100. I had the time of my life and I'll never forget it.

October 10, 2004 Went to the clean side of the lake we live on for 2 days of water sports. It was wicked. I water skiied for the first time ever. It was so fun! It took me 1 try to get it! YA!! The sailboat and windsurfing were good too.
September 01, 2004 Although I've been here for 1 month and a few days, I've been told my school is one of the worst in Japan. I didn't believe the stories till I met the students today. They are nightmares!*not all but some*
August 13, 2004 Nancy came to the apartment to live here. I've been drinking a lot so I have to cut down. Almost everyday I've been hungover. Work is easy since school is not in session. I go to school and read Harry Potter. Hard life! hahah.
July 30, 2004 After a long trip to Shigaken(the prefecture I'm in) I've arrived. My apartment is huge but there is almost nothing in it. I have a washer/dryer, new tv/vcr.
July 25th, 2004 Arrived in Tokyo for the Jet Orientation. I stayed at a nice hotel and other Jet's stayed at the Tokyo Hilton Hotel where LOST IN TRANSLATION was filmed. The orientation was ok, did some heavy drinking.
July 19, 2004 It was my last day at Butchart Gardens today. Thanks for the 4 years. I'm heading to Japan to teach English for the Japanese Government *JET*.

June 8, 2002 Went to Banff and Lake Louise for a 5day camping trip with Nancy. Saw lots of wildlife and picturesque places.
May 31, 2002 Left Japan and arrived back in Canada the same day. Realized how fat, and rude Canadians are. Its going to be hard to readjust. Said Bye to Tina for the last time. Terry and I sat together for the 13 hour flight.
May 30, 2002 Last night in Japan. Went to expensive restraunt with host family.
May 28, 2002 Went to Okinawa for 3 days with Nancy. It was amazing! Looked just like Hawaii with light blue water, and white sandy beaches. Only cost $250!
May 1, 2002 Final month in Japan. So much is gonna happen this month its going to be nuts.

March 11, 2002 My birthday! Turned 21! Had a birthday party at my host family's place, and also went out with other people to an izakaya(Japanaese restraunt).

October 9, 2001 Found out my Auntie Marg is engaged today, so Congradulations. Unfortunely I also heard that her fiances mother passed away today too. I only meet her a few times but she was a really nice lady, R.I.P Hilda.
October 8, 2001 The Konan Exchange page now works and has a couple of links that work too. You can read the first 2 weeks emails that I wrote, as well as see my schedule for the Fall Semester. Thanksgiving back in Canada, too bad Im eating Octopus tonight.
October 7, 2001 Went to a Jazz festival in Kobe with Hostmom and sister.It was ok, I saw lots of musicians that were foreigners. Too bad I don`t like Jazz though.
October 6, 2001 Finally updated my website! Added new news, added a section for the exchage. Put up a picture and some basic information on it. Just got back from a field trip to Nara. I saw the biggest Buddha in the world today. It was sweet.
September 7, 2001 Met my host family today. It was a bit akward at first but everythings great now. If only I could understand them though heheh.
September 5, 2001 Went to the Kobe Bay Sheraton and meet some of the other Exchange Students. The place is amazing the nicest hotel Ive seen in my life!
September 4, 2001 A bunch of people saw me off at the airport. A long day. I was in the air for about 11hours altogther. Talk about massive jetlag.
September 3, 2001 Tonight`s my last night in Canada. Ive been going nuts trying to pack. Its actually the 4th now I`ve been up all night! Tomorrow I leave ahhhh ya!!
